Meetings not added + incorrect times

I've been using this program for a few weeks now and I really like it (especially since I can now sync it to my iphone) but I have noticed a few errors

1. Not all of my meetings are synced from Lotus Notes to Google Calendar. For some reason, a few meetings simply do not get added to Google Calendar and I have no idea why? Any tips on what the issue could be and how to fix it?

2. I created an appointment in Notes, for 11:30am, repeating weekly every Friday for 5 months. For some reason, this has been added to Google Calendar as an appointment for 10:30am instead of 11:30am. I have tried deleting the google appointment and re-synching.. and also just deleting the appointment in notes and re-synching- but it still does the same thing.

Thanks and please post issues to the support database

Thanks for good words about the product, and sorry for late answer - I monitor web pages comments not as frequently as Support database. Few suggestions.
1. Not sure which version you're using, but we've fixed some problems with synchronizing events to Google in latest release (and some time zone problems were fixed earlier), so please download, install and try the latest one from our website. You might need to perform Sync All! from the tray menu.
2. If some problem still persist, please put a ticket into our support database to ensure prompt response. Please attach your full log to the issue (just paste %AppData%\AweSync\Log in your windows explorer, zip, and attach files from there).
Thanks again!

Nice program

This is a nice program. It's a one stop solution. There may be other open source projects out there that do almost the same thing, but require additional dependencies to be downloaded and installed, and seperate programs to schedule out the sync'ing. I've played with the others, and even after ~1hr of configuring/playing with the others, still don't have everything the way I want( And which I was able to setup in awesync in less than 5 mins!).

One thing I would like to see is the invite list being added to meetings in google, even if it isn't in the proper google field.
I.e. append to the meeting description the following:

Attendees
-------------
Name1, Name2, Name3
It's not as cool as having the names be listed as proper 'official' attendees, but it helps greatly.

Invite list synchronization

Hi,
Thanks a lot for encouraging words about the software, and glad you like it.
In the "what's new" list of upcoming release 2.0 there is a description of the feature, which is quite similar to what you mention here, though has some slight difference:
Support of synchronization between Invitees Required field in Lotus Notes Meeting and Guests field in Google calendar event. Internet addresses of corresponding Lotus Notes user is placed in Google calendar event.

Excellent program!

I just finished the evaluation period of CompanionLink which worked well but not nearly as good as awesync.  I had everything up and running very quick.  Here are a few things I think would add even greater value:
Support for syncing contacts
Adding a note in the command box that says "click 'retrieve' to apply google credentials" because when I put in my credentials, I was looking for an "apply" button next to OK and took me a minute to realize that the "retrieve" button effectivley applies the credentials.  I believe using "apply" would be more consistent with the usabilty of Windows.
An initial purge and reloading of calendars on first set up to prevent duplication.  First time I synced I had multiple duplications, so I had to  manually go in and delete all the duplications from google, then do a one way sync from google to notes, then turn back on 2-way syncing.
Push syncing instead of fetching...if possible; meaning the program should always be connected to google, and when it detects a change, it should automatically push that change to notes, and vice versa.  I do LOVE autosyncing even though it's on a recurring fetch mode...not a huge deal to keep it on 10 minute autosync since it doesn't use much bandwith or system resources, but push syncing would be ideal.
Overall an amazing product that does the trick.  I have had no bugs or problems from my end using windows xp pro.  Looking forward to the final version and additional improvements!

Re: Excellent program!

First of all, thanks for the good words.
Concerning your comments:
>> Support for syncing contacts
It will be done later, in version 2.1 or 3.0
>> Adding a note in the command box that says "click 'retrieve' to apply google credentials"
Yes, this is great idea, thanks. Also version 2.0 will contain Configuration wizard which should make options setup quick and easy
>>Push syncing instead of fetching...if possible
Push sync requires to have some handle, or some fired event from Lotus or Google: "hey, you got new document to sync". Unfortunately, implementation of such handle in LN requires to implement AweSync from scratch as LN add-in, and is not possible at all from Google side.
Maybe some kind of push sync at least from Lotus to Google will be implemented, if we decide to do a server-side version at some point. But right now this is just one of ideas, and not yet planned.

Now with the proxy support it

Now with the proxy support it works fine! Thank you guys, now i can see all my notes calendar entries on my iPhone via Google Calendar :-)

Thanks!

Thanks for great words, and glad to hear you like the product!

What an amazing application

Hi,
I have just installed the Beta version today, and what a pleasure!
It took less than 5 minutes and I was up and running.
So far I have not ran into any problems, it just works :0)
I have already passed along your website to several of my co-workers, and they love it..
Thanks from Copenhagen....

Thanks!

Mikkel, thanks a lot, glad to hear the product works for you.

Some general comments

Hi guys,
First off let me say the product seems to do the job quite nicely and with a minimum of fuss.  I had tried AWE Sync earlier but with running on 64 bit windows it was a non starter, just tried with the latest beta and things are in much better shape.

So, with all that in mind, this was my first sync with AWE sync.  The sync went pretty well but the first sync was quite slow given the platform it was on.  I'm running on a quad processor box and the sync operation using notes 8.5.0 took about 20 minutes.  The sync was for a server based sync which may have been part of the problem since this goes through a corporate firewall and the server is geographically quite a way from us.  In addition my google calendar has I believe 6 separate calendars.

While watching the log of activities during the sync it seems the getting of the calendar data from Notes and the creating of new Notes calendar events were the slowest activities, the google part of the process was pretty fast.

One other small point, I see in your FAQ a note when AWE sync says it cannot find the notes.ini file.  I had this same problem but the fix was not the same as described in the FAQ.  I found the entry in the registry (again, 64 bit windows) and provided that to AWE sync, it then gave me an error saying it could not copy the file into the same place I just gave it.  After that everything worked fine but it was odd.

Let me know if you need any further details.

Chris.

Thanks

Hi Chris!
Sorry for not responding for quite a while - this page wasn't sending email notifications.
Yes, first sync may take a while. You're correct that you have a powerfull box, and it is more than enough, as AweSync is not processor intensive application. However, it depends on the speed of the Internet connection - and you mentioned right, that if you synced a database on far away Domino server over slow network, this would even add time required for synchronization.
You might consider creating local replica of you mail database in this case, if it's possible, and try to sync with it.
And yes, I will appreciate very much if you send us details on registry changes in Windows 64 bit. Please enter the ticket into Support section of our website, so it can be easily tracked.
Thanks again, Roman.

Settings

So far everything has worked great, but I do wish that instead of choosing days before and days after to sync that I could choose by calendar date.

Thanks!

Thanks, and sorry for long time to respond - didn't monitor this page for a while. And we can consider choosing dates for sure instead of the timeframes, just wondering if it will be convenient - as time passes, you would need to continuously go to settings to change them to adjust to changing calendar date. Please let me know.

Great Program

Ran into issues after repairign IE8 (see testing area)

Version 1.0.1.4 works like a charm

Had a few initial problems with syncing on a version before 1.0.1.4.  But now its fine - I even recommended Awesync to a colleague who has downloaded 1.0.1.5 but he is experiencing problems as it is asking him for Notes.ini files, which he is not sure what they are.
After converting Notes ver 7x to Google calendar, I use Google Sync to sync to my iPhone calendar. Works like a charm. Thanks to the Awesync team!

No sync when calendar is not public

My google calendar is not public and I intend to  keep it that way.
I tried sync and it has no effect on my calendar.
Is this working as designed or this may be a bug?

Re: No sync when calendar is not public

No, making calendar public is not necessary for sync. Please upload your full log in issues. We'll try to understand the reason.

hi - my first sync

Hi,
First of, thanks a lot for this software. I've been looking for something like this for a long time.
I was able to easily complete a sync.  The set up was very easy and smooth.  However, it seems not all the calendar entries synced up.
Do we know why?
Thanks.

Why calendar entries don't show up in Google...

Hi staten01,
I too experienced this and finally figured it out.  Awesync has published that repeating calendar entries with an exception will not syncronize.  This means if you have a repeating calendar entrie where one instance has been changed it won't sync.  They have a more detailed link explaining this on their home page.
But to Awesync, I wanted to say thank you for creating this app.  It's a breaze to setup and runs very quickly.  I can't wait for the final release version!!

sync jamming up

As in someones prieious post, the initial sync went great and each subsequent attempt gets jammed up.  When ug free this will be the preferred app.  adding the same ideas for contacts and email would make other similar products unnecessary

Sync goes well

 Hey all,
I'm too late for the beta testing, anyway I try to give my first impression.
I'm working with this system
Windows 7 (Italian)
Lotus Notes 7.0.3 client (mail template 8.01)
I downloaded AweSync this morinig and I used it. I syncronized my defaual google calendar without adding limit and the first time I sync. more than 500 entries.Second sync without double entries.
Modifiend one entries on the Notes calendar and delated one on the google calendar, sync without any problem.
In Notes I also have invitation to meeting and single day entries, all sync. without any problem.

I'm working without a proxy and in LAN, absolutly necessary a proxy support.
Have a great day to all.

Feature Request: Contact Sync

The calendar sync looks great so far!  Managed to get it set up and syncing on the first try which is great!  I used the IE proxy settings, when I tried manually entering the proxy settings, it did not retrieve my google calendar.
This is a killer app for potential Android users with corporate Lotus Notes.  Would it be possible to add contact sync along with the calendar sync?  This would be extremely useful.

Yes: Contact Sync!

The calendar sync work fine, but the contact sync would be extremely useful.

Worked first time, but not afterwards

App looks great in general. I tried out out and here's the result: first time I ran it, it synced up my notes and google calendars just fine, although it took 20-30 min. My notes calendar is very large, some 20,000 entries, going back 4 years or so. An option to only sync past X months and future X months would be great, since I don't really care about synchronizing calendar for last 4 years and it would cut the time down.
Then I ran it again, but it hangs on any consecutive attempt to synchronize. Here's a screenshot, this is the step on which it's sitting... never comes back and never gives an error (I left it alone for 24 hrs).

Re: Timeframe

Leon, version 1.0.0.9 already contains an option to limit timeframe. Try to use it.

Beta Testing

This worked liked a treat for me. Managed to complete a 2 way sync in about 10 minutes. Now I can view all my calendar entries on my Iphone calendar! It is the solution I hoped for.
Will consider purchasing this product if it is not offered as freeware.

Fantastic work

This is a great product so far, I'll be testing it extensively.   Many of our users don't have a Notes client installed -- maybe someday your product be adapted to use a Lotus Notes on the web?
Thank you very much for your work on this.

Hey there Dimitri, Thanks for

Hey there Dimitri,
Thanks for this magnificent tool. I'm using awesync with the proxy function to sync my lotus notes in the office network with google calendar, which syncs it with my android mobile. Works like a charm. I do have one issue in the betaversion to report. My google calendar repetitive appointments, birthdays to be precise, show up on every past monday. So every monday i have a list of private birthdays, which are actually on another date. I suspect it has something to do with the last possible calendar year in lotus notes and the last possible calendar year in google calendar. I hope it's useful!

invitations missing

Overall the sync works perfect, but I have a few invitations that is not sync'ed to Google. It is invitations I have accepted before syncing for the first time. All newer appointments are synced. Any ideas ?
