Description

Because some people might be afraid of a critical problem appearing in one AweSync version one day which would really damage their calendar: it would be extremely good if after a synchronisation, there was the possibility of undoing the synch.

Thanks, we'll think this out later

Yeah, generally great idea. Requires some additional technical analysis, so we'll research more once we stabilize this release.

Today this nightmare actually occured to me :-(
I have deleted by mistake all my LN calendar entries and pressed sync on Awesync. Since I had the sync timeframe both in future and past set to 0, all my past and future meetings got deleted :-/
I have read in the changelog of AweSync 4.5 that you had added an option to backup events in case of events deletion on both Lotus and Google. I have however not seen any such backup feature in any of the menus of Awesync.
Is there any chance that I can restore all the meetings that I deleted today? I use version 4.11.0

 Hi,

Yes, to restore events please follow the steps below.
1. Go to the folder where Awesync was installed (usually, it is C:\Program Files\Awesync\) and run the file EventsRestorer.exe
2. You'll be presented with the program window.
3. Select restore destination: if you initially deleted events from Google (so that Awesync removed corresponding events from Lotus Notes), select Lotus Notes, or vice versa.
4. Select the documents to restore from the list.
5. Press Restore events button.

Thanks,

I just read on an other issue (http://www.awesync.com/node/1469) about the EventsRestorer.exe
I am already relieved since I have seen all the xml files in the Backup folder. I also saw that you just replied (thanks for this very fast support!!!)
However, unfortunatelly when I selected all entries and pressed "Restore Events", I got an error. Followed by a message saying that 0 events were restored. I can raise a separate issue for that if you want. I will look into the reported XML to see why it failed.

I've raised the following new issue http://www.awesync.com/node/1603
I hope you can see the screenshot. I get the error when I try to restore all events and even if I try to restore individual events only.
I guess the issue is because of the wrong folder parsing. Indeed https://c/Documents and Settings/.... is not a valid location

I've been using Awesync now for almost a year and find an almost perfect solution for coordinating my calendar and tasks between Lotus and Google. Both in terms of set-up/installation and on-going upgrades and maintenance, Awesync has proved to be an excellent solution.
